How to connect Semly to ChatGPT - Semly plugin and your own MCP plugin

Connect Semly to ChatGPT using the ready-made plugin or create your own personal plugin connected directly to the Semly MCP server.

You can connect Semly to ChatGPT in two ways: by using the ready-made Semly plugin or by creating your own personal plugin that connects directly to the Semly MCP server.

Method 1: Semly plugin

  1. Open the Plugins section in ChatGPT.

  2. Find and install the Semly plugin.

  3. Connect your Semly account.

  4. Choose brands and grant the required permissions.

  5. Enable the Semly plugin in a new conversation.

Method 2: your own MCP plugin

  1. Open Plugins.

  2. Click + and choose Add custom MCP server.

  3. Enter the name Semly and a short description.

  4. Provide the Semly MCP server URL.

  5. Complete Semly authorization.

  6. Choose Create as a plugin.

  7. Review the detected tools and install the plugin.

  8. In a new chat, type @ and choose Semly.

Show me the brands I can access in Semly.
Show my current brand visibility and compare it with the previous 30 days.

Advanced example

Compare 90 days of Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and Semly data. Find topics with strong organic visibility but weak AI visibility. Check competitors and sources, then recommend an action plan.

Publishing content

With the appropriate permissions, ChatGPT can generate, edit, and publish articles to the Semly Knowledge Base, WordPress, or Shoper when those channels are connected to the brand.

Revoking access

You can revoke the connection at any time in Semly under Settings -> MCP Apps or Integrations -> MCP Apps.
